A beautiful week here in Providence!

I can only hope that the weather is this nice when we are on spring break in a few weeks. This week has been wonderful spring (and even summer) like weather!

Yesterday it was 93 degrees when I rode home in my friend's car with the top down! It was heavenly! I made a trip over to Davis Park to check on plot #10 and to give the few plants that are in there a little bit of water since it was so warm! The plants are looking good and we're hoping that a few things found in the compost will start to grow too.

Pictures are posted below-
top row- plot #10 all cleaned up and ready for the gardening season of 2010 AND thyme from last year's gardener

middle row- location where we put tomato seeds from tomato plants that were in plot from last year AND mint that was found in compost, recovered by Tera and planted in the back left corner of plot

bottom row- location where little acorn was planted. With a little luck and lots of care maybe we'll grow an oak tree.

I've got sprouts! How exciting. Last year while at IKEA, I picked up several of these little pots of seeds. I forgot about them and found them over the weekend. Tera planted these Sunday, but we weren't sure they were going to grow since they were from last year and she had A LOT of water in there.

But... check it out! Our first green from seeds for the season!

It looks as though the little pot of IKEA chives is also going to grow! All week long I've been rotating the "professional greenhouse" that is taking up the better part of my kitchen table. I'm hoping to see at least a few seeds sprout on that before the end of the weekend.
